I went through several different styles of the indoor hd antenna and outdoor hdtv antenna from a well-know company called Terk. I thought they were the only ones that made hdtv antennas, along with Radio Shack, they're one of the biggest companies out there making hdtv antennas. It took a week of headaches and aggravation going up and down on my roof installing different Terk antennas models (including their best hd antenna they offer) only to pick up 1 hdtv channel!
Believe me, the "bar" type hdtv antenna we tried from Radio Shack and the ones from Terk that fasten underneath your over-hang and the type that you set on top your tv... DON'T WORK! I tried the “bar” type HDTV antenna and both my other friends each tried 2 different brand names of the "old fashion style" type hd antenna!
My buddy Tom tried the one you set up on top your HDTV…LOL! I bet him $10 it was crap… he lost! So I got online looking for an indoor hd antenna right after I bought my HDTV (as you are probably doing right now) and came across other brand name antennas that were available. The thing was though they all had that same general design which lead me to believe I would get the same kind of performance from those brands also. I finally came across a company in which all they did was make the hdtv antenna. Actually I found out about them while watching NBC’s “Today’s Show” one morning. They were doing a special segment about this place! Actually they’re becoming one of the highest regarded hdtv antenna companies in the country!
What caught my eye immediately was the totally different design they had...so I gave it a shot and purchased the DB4 outdoor hdtv antenna model!
I was so amazed by how well I received ALL my hdtv channels perfectly, (all within the first scanning of my tv!) UNBELIEVABLE! Me and another friend of mine even live down in a valley! Not only that, but how inexpensive they were and how cool they look on your house!
After going through all of this and in the end me being the one at my work to find the “crème of the crop” hdtv antenna... We all ended up getting the same DB4 model except my brother; he had to get the next version up cause he lives so much further out. If this past Super Bowl Sunday has any indications of things to come I think they’ll all be over at my house this Season anyway watching the games.
Since I was the first to try this hdtv antenna out I had everybody over Super Bowl Sunday. They were all jealous of my new beer tapper (bought their "Kegerator" model). I swear it’s the neatest thing I ever owned! It’s so cool watching the games and walking over and pouring myself a “ frosty one”. Believe it or not they’re not that expensive and I can tell you first hand these are built and look just like the commercial ones. They even have an awesome selection of tapper handles to choose from! I’ve been researching awhile (and waiting on wife approval) on a beer tapper for my basement, I highly recommend them! One of my buds bought one that Monday! Enjoy Keg Refrigerators with Friends and Family.
Anyways, just wanted to boast a little here and pass my experience on to anyone getting ready for the HDTV plunge and saving you some time and money searching for an hdtv antenna that works. While your there you have to check out the NBC's "Today show", CNBC’s “On the money” and "Digital Life TV" video coverage spotlighting this company... They all talk about these HDTV Antennas
