Each article that you submit could be displayed on an "article site" under the terms of the GNUFDL (GNU Free Document License) with a return link to your site. (if it meets the sites QA editorial guidelines.), which means that anyone can copy and publish your article as long as they keep the active links active, and don't change anything.
That's not so exciting I know, but here's the good bit. If the Article Site has already got over 1000 authors registered you can bet your boots they will be promoting your article after it's loaded. How else would they get so many authors? Each of these authors is a person like you and I, promoting their websites for free. Now, most of us use an email system to keep our visitors informed and encourage them to return to our sites. Right?
When these authors, who are also publishers, are putting their newsletter together they often need some unique content and don't always want to create it themselves, so they use your article, and BINGO! They send it to their mailing list, which can be in the tens of thousands. So your article is emailed to a mailing list of people who are interested in the topic that your article expounds.
In addition to that, your article will show up in Google etc, with your link still in the article resource box. Especially because many newsletters are kept live online after distribution. Can you see what can, and does happen when you submit to 100s of Article sites, and multiple articles?
To help ensure your article gets used, Article sites offer a weekly or real time notification service via RSS or email. This gives newsletter publishers all the articles submitted, which are in the category they selected to receive, either weekly or as they are approved. They also provide a service which will give the newsletter publisher the HTML code version of their chosen article, so they can easily copy and past into their newsletter source code.
Also, you can view your article stats, on most article sites, with just one click, after logging in. Find out how many times it's been downloaded, sent to friends, rated, and commented on. Can you see the benefit in that? You can make alterations anytime you like, even after it's been published!
How to get started
Choose an Article Site, and then simply register as a member for free. Confirm your email address, login again and click on "Submit Articles", follow the prompts from there.
