Polyester clothing is better for very cold weather, as it directs moisture away from the skin and helps it to evaporate. A mixture of polyester and wool is actually very warm to wear in cold conditions as both wool and polyester have wicking properties, but wool in the better insulator.
So the next time you feel attracted by that gorgeous outfit in the summer, look first to see what it is made of. Polyester might be easy-care and non-iron. You can usually throw it in the washing machine and it comes out looking fine. It dries quickly too. But if it does not feel good in hot weather you won't enjoy wearing it.
